It all started at a wedding…
It was 2008, and I was a bridesmaid in my childhood best friend’s wedding in Charleston, South Carolina. It was this day that I personally experienced watching a (wedding) photographer in action for the first time. In that instance, I KNEW that is what I was truly meant to do!
It felt like a serendipitous moment, it felt right, it felt meant to be.
I jumped head first into learning everything there was to know about photography and the business behind it. Thankfully, my then fiancé, now husband, Ryan was there to hold my hand, and we jumped together! It was that summer, that Tami Melissa Photography was established!
Since 2008, I have captured hundreds of families and together, Ryan and I, have captured over 300 weddings!

We met the day after I turned 18 while working together. We were friends for 3 years before we started dating. Once he kissed me, the rest was history… He asked me to marry him in the snowy Poconos and then we were married in sunny Laguna Beach, CA! He is truly my best friend, my always & forever.
Rhys & Everly:
These two are my life, my heart and my soul! They are one day shy of being 14 months apart, and as hard as it was when they were little, I am so glad Ryan and I chose to have them so close together! As we say each night before bed… I love them – to infinity & beyond!

BOOKS:
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always loved a good book. My fondest memories growing up were when my Grandmom would take me to the local library to choose as many books as I wanted! Nowadays, I’m more inclined to choose audiobooks, as I can “read” (listen) to them just about anywhere!
Guilty Pleasures:
The Bachelor Franchise, Binge Watching Shows on Netflix, Espresso Martini’s, Mint Chocolate Chip Gelato, and some really good Dark Chocolate
“We used Tami to do our newborn photo shoot this past summer (after having an amazing wedding photo experience two years prior) and she did fantastic work! Tami came out to our house and did the shoot for us in the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. She did everything in her power to ensure that we all were safe during the photoshoot, including wearing a mask and sanitizing her hands before arranging our photo shoot. Our photos all came out fantastic. She was attentive to the needs of our newborn as well as created a comfortable, at home experience to capture the love and joy of our household. I look forward to utilizing Tami for any photo needs that I have for the future because I am confident that she will capture all of our special moments without me worrying at all. She is an absolute pleasure to work with!!“
